Heiderose in Steinheim am Albuch

Some reviews are very unfair. We were there recently. The catering was of course closed due to Corona, but the over-the-counter service was very customer-friendly. We would not have complained if they had closed because of the situation. Many people with 9 to 5 armchair jobs don't even know how exhausting gastronomy can be.

Lunch heather rose. Venison goulash with red cabbage and Swabian yeast Knöpfla. Venison goulash very tender and tasty. Red cabbage exactly matched to the goulash and the Hefeknöpfla really Swabian good. Thanks to the Heiderose team, especially the landlady Ute and the creative cook in the kitchen,

Highly recommended, the food was delicious and even though we were many people, we could all enjoy the food at the same time. We would definitely like to come back.

Can only agree with one other reviewer here. It's no longer fun to get on the heather rose. We used to go here on our bikes for a snack in the evening ... nice to watch the sunset, drink a beer and eat a sausage salad or a snack platter. Today the heather rose seems to be interesting only for retirees, or for people who finish work at 3 p.m. From 7 p.m. shift in the shaft ... or in the kitchen .... no, nobody understands that who has never worked in the hospitality industry ... the question is whether the hospitality industry still understands its guests ..... when you are open for a few hours four days a week you should also think of the guests who may not come home until 6 p.m. or later and then want to enjoy the sunset on the heather rose. You could think about reacting flexibly to guests, weather conditions and demand.

Outside you sit on beer benches with the familiar comfort. There are umbrellas. The ground outside is completely tarred and sometimes very crooked. Visually not so nice. 😒 Due to its location, there is no view of the Steinheim valley. You have to order food and drinks inside. Food is then brought. You have to get drinks yourself. Had cheese spaetzle. Portion was manageable and without a salad! 😒 Was there for the first and probably last time. Did not like it. But ok for excursion cyclists. Extra there by car ... no, I prefer other locations.

Always worth a stop. For 60 years I have been happy to come to this beautifully located bar!

At 7 p.m. there was no longer understandable food! But a Vesper is not a big thing even that was no more !!!! It is a shame it is no longer fun to go to the Heiderose. What is the problem of placing two slices of bread on top to please his guests ?? We don't understand.

It is simply beautiful there, you come across the moor, on foot, by bike, by car and then you start to relax in the concert of the crickets, nothing disturbs, pure relaxation far from everything. We enjoyed this serene relaxation with good food and were simply enjoyed by friendly staff, small vacation a week. We will definitely be happy to come back! L

We did the hike around the crater and came to the Heiderose very comfortably. There is enough space outside and inside and the host was very friendly and answered many of our questions. The food there is very tasty and recommendable. The price / performance ratio is okay.

Great destination. Good traditional German dishes and friendly people. I Come here with business partners too. They always enjoy the walk trough the forest and the great athmosphere at Heiderose.
